DHA Omega-3, What Doctors Need to Know

Kiran called to tell me a story of his father. With high triglycerides, low HDLs and moderately high LDL levels the Indian Elder’s doctor suggested to Kiran that a Statin was needed. Kiran’s father was diagnosed with high cholesterol, but the drug side effects were unpleasing and he stopped right away. Wisely, Kiran’s father started an omega-3 therapy program instead. After 10 months the doctor said the Senior’s numbers looked good.
“See I told you the Statin would work.” The doc said.
Kiran corrected the doctor, “No we tried omega-3 instead.”
